ADHD warns against using a food supplement to reduce body weight

Abu Dhabi Health Department has warned against using "Weight Rapid Loss Capsule" food supplement to reduce body weight. The assessment is that such capsules may cause cancer. The Department of Health warns the public against the use of this product and asks health professionals to report any complaints about the quality of the product or any side effects resulting from the use of the product by email. The Department of Health explained that the study by the US Food and Drug Administration showed that it contained the undeclared banned substance "phenolphthalein", which is not generally recognized as safe and effective. In addition, studies indicate that phenolphthalein shows potential cancer risks. Because it damages DNA or causes mutations  Phenolphthalein has been found to be toxic to genes. It also contains microbial growth above the permissible limit.

But such products are promoted by sellers through social platforms. People are more likely to buy it as it can be bought online through social media. The health department asked people to be cautious and stay away from buying such products.
