Be cautious on consumer product news and rumors

Dubai Municipality says Dubai residents need not worry about carcinogenic shampoos and personal care products recalled in the US as they are not sold in the emirate.
News of the US Food and Drug Administration warning against certain aerosolized personal care products due to their cancer-causing benzene content has sparked concern. Dubai Municipality gave an explanation after this.
The municipality advised the public to be cautious about consumer product news and rumors.
At the same time, the officials explained that the products sold in the US markets are different from those in the UAE due to different characteristics according to the environmental conditions of each region.
Ensuring that all products locally manufactured, imported, and traded here meet stringent health and safety standards.
Subject to an integrated control system from inspection at ports to importation,
Dubai Municipality has also asked the public to report adverse effects caused by the use of personal care products. Residents can contact the municipality through their call center on 800900 or through Montaji on the Dubai Municipality smart application.
Unilever plc has recalled several popular brands of aerosol dry shampoo, including Dove after they were found to contain the cancer-causing chemical benzene. The recall includes brands such as Nexxus, Suave, Tresemmé, and Tigi, which make Rockaholic and bedhead dry shampoos.
