New relaxed Covid rules will start from September in UAE

The new relaxed Covid rules will come into effect in the UAE from Wednesday, September 28. Most of the Covid laws have been relaxed in the UAE as part of the relaxations announced by the government. The relaxed rules come on the 1,000th day since the first case of Covid-19 was reported to the World Health Organization.

Daily infections continue to decline and deaths from the virus remain virtually zero. Although the situation is stable, the Covid-19 virus is still among us.

The government spokesperson appreciated residents' commitment to the rules and highlighted how they helped the country stabilize the Covid situation.

For those flying out of the UAE, the Covid laws of the country of destination will apply. Isolation for covid patients;  PCR testing rules for close contacts apply.

Infected patients are required to isolate for just five days. Masks have been made optional in most public places, including schools.

Mask is mandatory in mosques, places of worship, medical facilities, and public transportation.

Masks are mandatory for Covid patients and suspected cases.

They are recommended for the elderly, those with chronic illnesses, and those who are determined.

Food service providers must wear masks.

Wearing masks inside flights is no longer a government requirement, which airlines can decide on. The mandatory social distancing between fans is no longer required.

Worshipers in mosques should bring their own prayer mats. Close contacts need to undergo PCR tests only if they have symptoms of Covid-19.

PCR tests are recommended for the elderly and close contacts from vulnerable groups. The duration of vaccination of vaccinated individuals has increased from 14 days to 30 days. This means the pass will remain green for 30 days after a negative PCR test.

Unvaccinated people are required to take a PCR test every seven days to maintain their pass. The pass is mandatory for entering some public places and federal government offices in Abu Dhabi. The government will no longer announce the number of daily cases. Instead, the figures on official websites will be updated.
