    Sharjah Police against blocking traffic due to minor accidents.

    The Sharjah Police General Command has called on motorists who are involved in minor accidents to take their vehicles off the road and park in the nearest safe place.

    He pointed out that it is against the law for people to gather after a traffic accident. According to Article No. (74) of the Traffic Act, the penalty for obstructing traffic (gathering) during an accident is Dh1,000.

    Major Abdullah Al Mandhari, Head of the Traffic and Patrols Department, explained that some motorists stop in the middle of the road after a minor traffic accident that does not cause injury or major damage to the vehicle, which puts their safety at risk. Safety of others, or it may obstruct traffic and delay the arrival of police and emergency services at the scene.

    Al Mandhari urged people not to congregate at places where traffic accidents occur to avoid traffic fines.  He said it is a negative phenomenon that increases injuries and deaths and disrupts traffic.
